I'd like to thank all the participants that took the time to get involved! - THANKS AGAIN!!

It is vitally important in establishing an immediate impact in terms of professionalism, tone of message and prospect engagement.

Several months in advance of release - this was then refined as we approached soft release date.

We focused on the key services that the product is trying to offer, and then identified the common characteristics of the target market - these core principles and objectives underpinned the vision that our designer brought to life.

4 | WHAT DID INVESTING IN YOUR BRAND IDENTITY DO FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

Gave the product a meaningful and immediately impactful presence - which in turn helps generate leads.

Get one in place! It doesn't have to cost a fortune but investment in this area is vital from the outset. Find a designer who can help turn your ideas and enthusiasm into a professional and engaging digital presence.

1 | WHAT DO YOU THINK THE RELEVANCE IS OF A BRAND IDENTITY AND WEBSITE FOR YOUR STARTUP?

First off, any business wanting to be successful these days needs to have a website. It doesn't have to be really fancy, but it should have a platform that it easy for the user to find certain things like: about the company, the company's portfolio and the contact information. I feel like a website is your main tool to sell yourself and your business so it need to be straightforward and to grab the viewers attention. With that said, the website should match the overall look and feel that your company is putting out to the consumer world. Your brand is what makes your company stand out from the rest. For example, my brand is the specific typography, textures, graphics and colors that I use to tell my story. A visual branding of a company allows people to identify you out of the sea of other brands. Having a brand and being consistent with it will allow your clients to recognize you even from a simple graphic. A great example of this would be the apple graphic from Apple or the golden arches of McDonalds. Needless to say, without a visual brand or a website, your company will suffer dearly.

2 | WHEN DID YOU INVEST IN A BRAND IDENTITY AND WEBSITE FOR YOUR STARTUP?

100% from the start. It was important to me to get it done in the beginning because I felt like I couldn't move forward with my new business without building a foundation for my business.

3 | HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR BRAND IDENTITY AND WEBSITE REQUIREMENTS?

I had a website already with my freelance gig but I revamped it and moved from Wix to Squarespace because SS had a better platform for eCommerce which is what I wanted to branch out to eventually so that people could buy my designs from my website. I created my own brand identity and I spent a few hours on making sure that my logo represented myself and was still professional. I did a lot of beta testing with both my logo and branding as well as my new website. I had a lot of friends, family and other business professionals look at each item and give me their honest feedback. I made a few tweaks here and there and came to a final look and feel for my brand and website.

4 | WHAT DID INVESTING IN YOUR BRAND IDENTITY DO FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

It really made my clients and potential clients see me as a "real" professional. It showed them that I was ready to meet their projects head on and to ensure that I was a serious business owner. It gave them something to look at and to remember me by.

5 | WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE ANOTHER FOUNDER WHO DOES NOT HAVE A BRAND AND WEBSITE IN PLACE?

I would tell them to do it right now and to not hold off any longer. Even if you don't do everything right away, at least start the process now. If you can figure things out for yourself, then building a website yourself will be cheaper and will still give you the same effect as if you had a professional do it for you. All you have to do is pick a platform since there are many out there to choose from. As for as branding, I would tell them to start thinking about what you want your clients to get from your company. Create a board of your style and create something from there.
