Over three years of rapid growth, Avanzanite evolved from a startup with around 10 employees to a team of 60+ people.
While the business was thriving, the brand wasn't keeping pace. The existing visual identity was disjointed and inconsistent, with marketing materials that lacked cohesion across platforms.
The logo existed in only one format, forcing the team to improvise across different applications, and there was no clear brand toolkit to guide the growing organisation.

As Avanzanite prepared to engage with investors, pharmaceutical partners and the wider bioscience community, they recognised that their brand needed to project the same professionalism and strategic thinking that defined their work.
The website was outdated and couldn't effectively showcase the team, communicate the company's values, or highlight important news and achievements.
Most critically, Avanzanite needed a design partner who could keep up with their speed of growth and evolving needs.

WHAT KSD DID

Building a brand partnership for rapid growth

Beginning with a two-hour discovery call to understand the vision, values and ambitious trajectory of the business, KSD established an ongoing brand partnership with Avanzanite that has evolved over three years to support the company's dynamic needs.

KSD developed a phased approach starting with visual brand identity, progressing to website design, and ultimately becoming Avanzanite's fractional design team through a monthly retainer arrangement.

KSD now serves as the central point of contact for any design needs across the organisation. This seamless integration means that whether the team requires a website update, conference materials, LinkedIn graphics, business cards or presentation decks, they know exactly where to turn.

Refining the visual brand identity

KSD understood that Avanzanite's existing logo had recognition and respect in the market, so rather than a complete rebrand, the approach was strategic refinement. Working collaboratively, KSD created a comprehensive visual brand toolkit that maintained brand familiarity while modernising the look and feel.

The refined logo suite includes stacked and horizontal variations, plus a simple submark for profile pictures and small applications. The colour palette was thoughtfully updated to lean into three shades of green to represent drive, growth and prosperity, complemented by electric blue for loyalty and warm stone for approachability. The typography pairing creates a confident, forward-thinking aesthetic that balances the established nature of pharmaceutical work with innovation.

A bespoke pattern inspired by the Avanzanite iconmark was developed to bring consistency across everything from website footers to roller banners. Most importantly, KSD delivered a complete suite of brand assets in all necessary formats, meaning the team finally had the tools to present themselves consistently across every platform.

Website designed for evolution

The website redesign is currently in progress, with wireframes approved and designs developed. The site will showcase the growing team through clean bio pop-ups, feature an editorial-style news section to highlight partnerships and achievements, include specific contact forms for different stakeholder needs, and position Avanzanite effectively for investors and pharmaceutical partners.

Importantly, the website is being built on Squarespace to ensure it can evolve alongside the business, with easy content updates and room for future expansion.

THE RESULT

Avanzanite's leadership recognise their investment in brand identity as a core business asset, contributing to investor confidence and making it easier for potential partners to engage with the organisation. The comprehensive visual brand identity enables the entire team to present consistently and professionally, whether they're at international conferences, on LinkedIn, or in one-to-one partner meetings.
