Square Design Summit 2026: recap
Square Design Summit 2026 — another year, another amazing event!
This year's Square Design Summit was another fantastic few days of learning, sharing ideas, and connecting with the wider Squarespace community.
Organised by the wonderful Kate Scott, the summit brought together designers, business owners and industry experts to share practical advice on everything from design and marketing to business growth and systems.
This year, I had the pleasure of speaking on How to Build a Referral Engine for Your Business, sharing some of the strategies I've used to generate referrals through stronger relationships, memorable client experiences and simple processes.
From a KSD perspective, it was also lovely to see so many people download the Free Productised Services Starter Kit for Squarespace Designers and some new sign up for the Package Your Services course. The feedback has been incredibly encouraging, and it's been great to hear how designers are already using the resources to refine and strengthen their services.
highlights
A brilliant line-up of speakers covering design, marketing, business growth and systems.
Thought-provoking conversations around referrals, visibility and sustainable business development.
A strong sense of community, with designers openly sharing ideas, experiences and lessons learned.
Lots of downloads of the Free Productised Services Starter Kit for Squarespace Designers, with designers already putting the resources into practice.
why it matters
Events like this are a reminder of how valuable it is to keep learning and making space for new ideas.
This year's summit reinforced a few things for me:
Referrals work best when they're approached intentionally, rather than left to chance.
Clear, well-packaged services make it easier for clients to understand, buy and recommend what you do.
Small improvements to systems and processes often create the biggest long-term impact.
What I'm taking away
There was a common thread running through many of the sessions: business growth doesn't need to mean making things more complicated.
Whether it was referrals, positioning, client experience or service design, the focus was often on creating more clarity, consistency and ease.
Those are themes that align closely with how we work at KSD, and they'll continue to shape both our client projects and the resources we create moving forward.
a quick thanks
A huge thank you to Kate Scott, all of the speakers, and everyone who attended.
And an extra thank you to everyone who joined my session, purchased the Package Your Services course, downloaded the Free Productised Services Starter Kit for Squarespace Designers, or got in touch afterwards to continue the conversation.
It's always appreciated.
