Squarespace Circle Day 2026: recap

That's a wrap on my fourth Circle Day at Squarespace HQ in New York, and what a day it was.

From my first visit in 2023, to speaking on stage in 2024, to being back in the room this year, it's been incredible to watch both the platform and the community continue to grow.

The big theme throughout the day was AI. As the lines between websites, apps and AI agents become increasingly blurred, it's clear that our role as designers is evolving too.

The biggest announcement: Forma

The biggest news of the day was Forma, Squarespace's new workspace that brings websites, apps, agents and business tools together in one place.

The idea is simple: answer a few questions upfront, and Forma can build a website, app and agent that are designed to work together from the start.

There are plans for features like version history, GitHub integration and client handoff tools, and for designers it opens up some interesting possibilities around customisation and development workflows.

It's still early days, but it was definitely the announcement everyone was talking about.

Other updates I'm excited about

There were plenty of other product updates that caught my attention too.

Stacks

Native Flexbox-style layouts with background controls, custom gaps and clickable stacks.

Workflow improvements

Some long-awaited additions including:

  • Autosave

  • Block locking

  • Vertical video support

  • Image Studio

  • Live React components within code blocks

Customer marketing tools

Squarespace also announced:

  • Customer Profiles

  • SMS campaigns

  • Squarespace MCP

  • New integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce, Notion, Google Reviews and Facebook Reviews

And for anyone wondering, Squarespace 7.1 is here to stay, with ongoing support planned indefinitely.

A favourite moment from the day

One of my favourite sessions was the panel featuring Will Myers, Becca Harpain and Dave Hawkins.

There was lots of practical advice, a few laughs, and plenty of food for thought.

Will talked about making multiple versions before narrowing things down, whilst Dave described AI as our generation's printing press.

That comparison came up in several conversations throughout the day and feels particularly relevant given how quickly things are changing.

A question I'm still thinking about

One topic that kept coming up throughout the event was AI and client work.

Not necessarily what the tools can do, but how we approach using them responsibly.

Questions around copyright, ownership and transparency are only becoming more important, and it's something I'll be paying close attention to as these technologies continue to develop.

I'd be interested to hear how other designers and agencies are approaching those conversations.

A quick thank you

A huge thank you to the entire Squarespace team for another brilliant Circle Day and for making everyone feel so welcome.

And, as always, one of the best parts was catching up with familiar faces from across the Squarespace community.

The following morning was spent continuing those conversations over breakfast with the brilliant teams at Eventually Ticketing and SquareKicker before heading home.

Already looking forward to next year.
